PrintFirm’s CD inserts are printed on our quality 100 lb. gloss text. We have flat inserts, bi-fold inserts, and tri-fold CD inserts available. CD insert printing can be on the front only or both sides.

The following CD insert printing tips should help you achieve success with your CD insert campaign goals.

1. Use high-resolution images for CD insert printing.
   PrintFirm recommends a minimum resolution of 300 DPI (dots per inch). Lower resolutions may appear to be good quality on your screen, but the printed result will be a fuzzy mess. Use caution when adapting images found online because they are typically low resolution. To check the DPI of a graphics file, open it in a reputable graphic design program and view the file details.
    
2. Flatten transparencies.
   If you use a vector-based design program for CD insert printing such as Adobe Illustrator, flattening your transparencies will make printing problems much less likely. Transparencies are formed by shadows, glows, and transparent objects. PrintFirm can occasionally correct for unflattened transparencies, but we cannot guarantee this and should not be help responsible if errors happen.
    
3. You can print CD inserts in bulk to save money.
   Offset printers such as PrintFirm require initial resources to setup each job, but once the job is loaded into the machine, the cost per copy decreases as the number printed increases.
    
4. Leave enough room for bleed with CD insert printing.
   Offset printers require a margin of error during the cutting process so that your results have a consistent quality. Extend your design about 1/8” past the design borders.
    
5. Rush print turnaround of two business days is available.
   If your CD insert design is ready to load into the printing machine before 10 am PST, your job will be complete within two days.
