Large Format Poster Printing
PrintFirm’s large format posters are printed on premium photo paper. You have a choice of 21 sizes ranging from 2 ft. X 4 ft. all the way up to 4 ft. X 10 ft. You can select a glossy laminated coating or no lamination with more of a matte appearance. Next day print turnaround is available if you need it.
The following large format poster printing tips should help you achieve success with your poster campaign strategy.
-
PrintFirm recommends a minimum resolution of 300 DPI (dots per inch). Lower resolutions may look fine on your computer screen, but the large format poster printing result will be a fuzzy mess. Use caution when adapting online images because they are typically low resolution. To check the DPI of an image file, open it in a reputable graphic design program and view the file details.
-
If you have any images that use RGB color, be certain to convert them to CMYK (what our printing system uses) before proceeding with large format poster printing. Since RGB is an additive color system and CMYK is a subtractive one, color differences may occur during the transition. If you convert to CMYK while using a reputable graphic design program, you can be certain the colors will be exactly how you want them to be.
-
If PrintFirm’s designers are creating a design for you, it’s a good idea to request electronic proofing when you place your order. Once our graphic artists have finished with the design, we send you a PDF file that shows all the artwork, text, crop marks, and fold/score lines (if any). This gives you a chance to review the design (and send us any corrections) right before we load it into the printing machine.
- Order as many copies at once as you can afford for large format poster printing. Offset printers such as PrintFirm require initial resources for the job setup, but once your design is loaded into the machine, the cost per copy decreases as the number of copies increases.
