Letterhead Layout

Which Way?

Choosing the right letterhead can be a little confusing. There is a lot to keep in mind when designing your company or personal letterhead, layout being the most crucial. A typical letterhead extends across the top of the page between 2 or 3 inches.

Here are some other kinds of letterhead to consider:

  • Full page: Full page letterhead extend from the top of the page to the bottom. Often they have a faded picture behind the main writing area to not cause distraction with the letter. You can also use a solid color or a background with a faint design. Avoid using background images that are too loud that can detract from what's being written.
  • Half page: Either top or bottom, this a unique way of creating letterhead if designed correctly.
  • Top and Bottom: A logo at the top corner with your company information at the bottom. Best if created in opposite corners.
  • In the Middle: Company information at the top or bottom followed with your company logo in the middle of the page.
