Postcard Printing
PrintFirm’s postcards have 10 available sizes ranging from 4” X 6” all the way up to 6” X 11”. Postcard printing can be on the front or both sides. Our postcards are constructed of durable 14-point card stock with an option for a glossy UV coating that protects against dirt and moisture. There is also an option for a hole punch with a diameter of 1/8”. Corners of the postcards can be rounded, if you desire.
The following postcard printing tips should help you achieve success with your postcard campaign.
-
If the postcards will be involved with direct mail marketing, it’s a good idea to use a printing company such as PrintFirm that can address the cards as they are being printed. This will save you time and money. If you don’t have a targeted mailing list, you can get one from a list broker and send that to us in the form of a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, or you can send your list requirements to PrintFirm and we will obtain a list for you.
-
Use high-resolution images for postcard printing. We recommend a minimum resolution of 300 DPI (dots per inch). Lower resolutions may appear as good quality on your screen, but the printed result will be fuzzy or pixelated. Use caution when adapting images found online because they are typically low resolution. To check the DPI of an image file, open it in a reputable graphic design program and view the file details.
- If you have any images that use RGB color, be certain to convert them to CMYK before proceeding with postcard printing. Since RGB is an additive color system and CMYK is a subtractive one, color differences may occur during the transition. If you convert to CMYK while using a good graphic design program, you can be certain the colors will be exactly how you want them to be.
