Here are some banner design and printing tips.

• Large fonts are best. In some cases, your banner will be viewed from a long distance and for a short time. For example, vehicle passengers may only view roadside banners for a few seconds. You may want to consider a larger banner size if your text is not visible enough.

• Do not clutter the banner design. A cluttered design will be difficult to view clearly and will give the impression that your organization is unprofessional even when that is not the case.

• Pay attention to contrast. Dark-colored banner text on a dark background won’t be readable enough. Light-colored text on a light background is also a bad idea.

• Match your banner to the venue. Luxury car banners would not be a good idea at a monster truck event, but would be ideal for a golf tournament.

• Get permission from the venue owners or local government agencies before placing your banner. Sporting venues are particularly strict about unsolicited advertising, and you don’t want any road maintenance crews to tear down your banner if you are not authorized to place it in that location.
