The trading card can be a great way to showcase products, sports figures, and other famous people. It can also act as a card game. You can also use it as an oversize business card. Standard business card measurement is 2” X 3.5” and standard trading card measurement is 2.5” X 3.5”. When using it for a game or as a traditional sports trading card, PrintFirm requires that you order at least 250 cards for each image. For example, if your deck contains 30 different cards, the minimum order would be 7500 pieces. We can probably offer you a significant discount for such a large order, so please email or call us and we can discuss it.
Trading card printing can be on the front only, or front and back. A glossy UV coating is also available for the front or both sides. The UV coating offers protection against dirt and moisture. If you do not want this coating, the result is a non-glossy matte appearance.
You can upload your own trading card design to our website. We accept all the popular graphic design file formats such as PDF, AI, and TIFF. If nobody in your organization has enough graphic design skill, you can click the “custom design” button when you place your order. PrintFirm’s team of talented graphic artists will design your cards. You retain the ability to use your own graphics and text. Just upload the graphics files to our artists and they will incorporate them into the design.
PrintFirm recommends that any uploaded images have a minimum resolution of 300 DPI (dots per inch). Lower resolutions may appear to be good quality on your computer screen, but the printed result will be a fuzzy mess. Use caution when adapting images found online because they are typically low resolution. To check the DPI of a file, open it in your favorite graphics design program and view the file details.
If you use a vector-based design program such as Adobe Illustrator, please flatten any transparencies before uploading your design files. If a file with transparency problems it printed, the result is generally a white box below the relevant object. Transparencies include shadows, glows, and transparent objects. PrintFirm can often correct for non-flattened transparencies, but we cannot guarantee this and should not be held responsible if problems occur.
Proofread your card design carefully before moving forward with trading card printing. A small text mistake can be costly. We recommend that you have multiple proofreaders and that at least one of those proofreaders is a skilled editor. A skilled editor may catch mistakes that other miss. You have the option of hiring a professional editor.
Please consider PrintFirm as your one-stop for trading card printing. We believe that quality is just as important as giving discounts for quantity.
