Whether you’re starting a new business and looking to attract customers for the first time or are well-established and wanting to keep your tried-and-true customers while still bringing in new clientele, rack cards are an easy advertising tool to gain interest in your business without breaking the bank. The can be used as menus, service list, event promotion, info sheet, and more.
Printed Rack Cards are all around us; at the gas station on top of the pump, at Costco, at the tire shop and they all have cool looking graphics on them. Well, there is a good reason for that. THEY WORK
Since they are about the size of a postcard, rack cards can be used to promote your business wherever you are. You can take them with you to trade shows, conferences, conventions, or any other networking opportunities you find. They’re also an easy way for you to cross-promote with other businesses. Take your rack cards to neighboring businesses in your area and see if they’d be willing to put your cards near the register or in a high-traffic area to help you attract new customers.
Hotels do this all the time by giving their customers cards, brochures, and fliers that inform them about places to visit in the area. Don’t forget to think about your audience though. If your main clientele doesn’t visit a certain type of business frequently, don’t bring your rack cards there. But don’t limit yourself either. Rack cards are used by doctors to inform patients about health issues and schools to tell prospective students about what they offer. Every industry can use rack cards to advertise what they offer. The sky is the limit with the type of information you can put on your card.

PrintFirm offers three different types of paper for rack cards:
14pt. Glossy Cardstock with UV Front Only
Thick cardstock. The front is shiny to really catch the eye of the reader. The back is not coated, so it is perfect if you need to write something on it.
14pt. Glossy Cardstock with UV on Both Sides
Thick cardstock. It is shiny on both sides and allows you to put more information and images on each card, really catching the attention of the reader.
16pt Matte/Dull Finish Cardstock
This paper is slightly thicker and gives off a more professional vibe. And because it is not shiny, it is easier to read.
PrintFirm also offers cards in two sizes: 3.5” x 8.5” and 4” x 9” with the option of printing anywhere from 50-20,000 cards (if you need more than 20,000 just ask). And if you need them in a hurry, PrintFirm has you covered! We can print and ship your cards in anywhere from 1-4 days.

Design Tips and Ideas
And just in case you don’t know where to start, we thought we’d provide you with a few design tips to make sure your rack cards will boost your business:
Put the most eye-catching feature near the top of the card. When rack cards are in a display, you usually are only able to see about a third or a fourth of the card.
Do your research. Look at other rack cards from your competitors or other businesses in your area. You want your card to stand out in a display. If you find a lot of your competitors are using dark colors, maybe go with lighter colors so the person looking at a wall of cards is drawn to yours immediately.
Include as much information as possible without cramming it onto the card. Your top priority with a rack card is to get people interested in your business and to make them want to visit your website or store. Make sure you include your location and contact information. A colorful design will draw readers in, but without the basic information, they won’t know how to get in touch with you
